Like all good open-world games, Genshin Impact places a great emphasis on exploration. Not only is the act of venturing into the vast and colorful world of Genshin incredibly fun, it is also extremely rewarding. Indeed, the land of Teyvat is replete with a variety of deadly enemies, monolithic bosses, dark dungeons, and most importantly, hidden treasures for the player to discover.
If you’ve been busy playing through the popular open-world game miHoYo, then chances are you’ve opened your share of the treasure chests. These loot-filled containers house a wide variety of items ranging from powerful weapons to game-changing artifacts and character-enhancing tomes. However, while most Genshin Impact chests are easy to find, there are some that require a bit of extra work to find.
Here are all the things you must take into account to discover the chests of the game.
Pick carrots for a generous surprise
Although picking carrots in Genshin Impact won’t give your characters improved night vision, they can sometimes reward you with a treasure chest. You will have to collect these healthy vegetables if you want to use the best recipes, so collecting them should always be a priority when looking for them.
Look around your environment for any carrots that are grouped in groups of three or four, as this is a sign that this particular patch will produce a treasure chest. Just pluck them off the ground and claim your new prize. Not bad to consume one of your five a day.
Light torches and bonfires
Although Genshin Impact is more than a clone of Breath of the Wild, it borrows some mechanics from Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda series. One of these areas is the way players can unearth hidden treasure chests. In most cases, just by lighting the previously lit torches, campfires and totems, you will reward yourself with a treasure chest.
Although this method won’t always reward you with a chest, it doesn’t take long to do so. We’ve certainly been rewarded with copious amounts of loot by following this advice, so be sure to do so too if you want to claim some extra rewards.
Destroy stone towers
These stone towers are not just an exciting project from Hilichurl, in fact, they can pay off quickly if you see them out in the open. Each pillar only takes a couple of hits before turning to rubble, allowing you to destroy all three statues in seconds. Break the Hilichurl targets and watchtowers
Hilichurl camps can be located anywhere in Teyvat and these pixie-like creatures often serve as punching bags for the Knights of Favonius. Daily quests often require you to clear hordes of Hilichurls, giving you plenty of opportunities to test your current party’s damage and elemental synergies. Eliminating the largest camps will also reward you with an exquisite chest.
However, there is one area that is normally overlooked by most Genshin Impact players. Some Hilichurl camps will have wooden targets that are grouped together. While these wooden structures may look like a simple set of clothing, they can actually be broken and often award you a bounty full of loot.
Digging up piles of dirt
These mounds of dirt are a bit difficult to spot, especially if you’re not looking specifically for them. In fact, we’ve been through the muddy outcrops of Genshin Impact dozens of times before our curiosity finally got the better of us. There does not appear to be a fixed location for these mounds of earth, but they appear most frequently near trees and open fields. Simply equip an Anemo character and blow the ground with their wind ability to claim your prize.
Hit the floating slimes
Genshin Impact wouldn’t be your typical anime ARPG without slime and these jelly-like foes come in all shapes, elements, and sizes. However, there is a particular type of slime that prefers to spend its day floating around trees and buildings.
Make sure to always check the horizon when you go exploring through dense forests or areas with heavy foliage, as you will invariably find a trio of slime floating around. Just shoot all three to open a chest.
Examine the fallen statues and ancient totems
Glow is usually a clue that an item has hidden loot for you to retrieve, but sometimes there will be no visual clue. Certain ancient statues and ruins in Genshin Impact will have treasure chests, so be sure to examine them carefully before proceeding to your next location in the game . After all, you will need as much loot as possible if you wish to upgrade all of your artifacts and weapons.
