It was universally critically acclaimed, it praised the story, characters, open world and considerable level of detail, although some minor criticisms were directed at the controls. GAMEPLAY

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a Western-themed action adventure game set in an open world environment. It is played from a third-person or first-person perspective and the player controls Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and a member of the Van der Linde gang. The game features single player and multiplayer components online.

The game brings back and thoroughly refines the mechanics of the previous game, such as combat, shooting, honor system and more. It also has many new features including dual-grip and swimming.

The game focuses heavily on the player’s choice for the story and missions. During IGN’s first appearance on how players’ choices can affect interactions and missions, Rob Nelson, co-director of Rockstar North, said: “We’ve tried to give you options on many of these missions to choose how you approach it, whether you’re going to send your friends first or if you go first. ”

Players can communicate with any non-player character (NPC) in new dynamic forms for the series. Morgan may choose different dialogue trees with NPCs as having a simple friendly chat with an individual or threatening them for the player’s personal interest, or they may kill them and plunder the corpse.

Red Dead Redemption 2 presents item degradation, with equipment like weapons that require cleaning and lubrication. The player can visit a barber to change his hairstyle; however, styles are only available to gamers, depending on the amount of hair your character has, with realistically growing hair across the title over time. Morgan can also gain or lose weight depending on how much he eats, a feature missing from previous Rockstar games since Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The characters have different sets of clothes for different weather conditions and also need to eat and bathe regularly. Some actions, which were once again automatic, were broadly expanded in detail, including skinning a kill and examining objects.

Redemption 2 features hunting and fishing, which provide food, income, and materials for crafting items. When hunting an animal, players will need to move slowly and carefully and pay attention to the direction of the wind to avoid warning their prey. Gun selection and firing are also important and will affect the quality of the flesh and skin, which in turn affects the price that traders will pay for them. If the tusks are injured, they will try to escape.

After a successful hunt, players can skin and kill the animal on the spot or take it whole. Animal skins and carcasses will rot over time if they are not well cared for, and that diminishes their value while making them stinky, and makes the character a target for wildlife when out of town. Furs, parts, meat and whole carcasses can all be loaded on horses to be sold to the butchers or to the general store of the city, taken back to the camp to the pan of stew or turned into clothes or other items. Hunters can create more exotic products for players.
