Goldenfir and Weijinto are manufacturers of SSDS that come from China. I don’t really understand the ins and outs of both brands, but some of their products are quite successful in the market. This time I have the opportunity to try two brands of SSD, initially I want to make a review given that this SSD must have different components because it has different brands, but I will make one because it turns out both have the exact same physical, and almost no difference also about the software that it has.
You won’t find this brand in local, because we usually find Goldenfir and Weijinto in international online marketplaces like Aliexpress. With a price range of $21 and rare and expensive mSATA products in Local, I am interested to buy both SSDS for use in Mini PC. Is it about to be a bit of a Goldenfir and Weijinto SSD to compete with the product?

Let’s just go through our review of Goldenfir and Weijinto SSDS.
The testing Platform that I will use is MSI Probox 23 with the following configurations;
Processor – Intel Core i3-4330TE 2.4 Ghz
Motherboard – MSI H81TI
RAM – Samsung DDR3L M471B5173DB0-YK0 2X4GB
Storage – Transcend TS128GMSA370 SSD
OS – Windows 10 1809 X64
Benchmarking Software – CrystalDiskMark 6.0.2, CrystalDiskInfo 8.0.0, ASSSD 2.0.6821.41776, H2TESTW 1.4
Each test I’ll do repeatedly ten times (except H2TESTW), and I’ll take the average performance value as a picture of the overall performance of this SSD.
Goldenfir and Weijinto come with ordinary plastic, impressing like other unfamous SSD brands that are sometimes wrapped in bubble wrap. No feature is listed to attract buyers. There are no sales bonuses such as bracket or SSD support software, but looking at the price offered it feels like I will not protest on this matter. About the full specifications of the product can be seen on the Aliexpress page. Considering that I bought is a mSATA product, then I will not talk about the design of this SSD. I will only include product photos only.
Goldenfir and Weijinto have many products, but that is what the product classification if the OEM they use is unclear. Why did I say not clear? Both Goldenfir and Weijinto use the same PCB, the controller used is the Silicon Motion SMI SM2258XT, and the NAND flash it I can not tell from which manufacturer because there is no single writing can be read. Regarding the warranty actually in each of their products explained that the warranty existed for 3 years, but I so think about how much cost I would spend if submitting this product to China. Conclusion is simple, think of it without warranty.
Here is the test result I get from the Goldenfir and Weijinto SSDS.
Goldenfir
Weijinto
Silicon Motion SM2258XT is capable of carrying out tasks well, and if reexamined, usually the average Weijinto is better than Goldenfir, although it is not significant considering they are actually one product. This Controller actually has a temperature sensor, unfortunately Goldenfir and Weijinto seem to intentionally not give the temperature sensor so that like any load given to the SSD then the temperature will always show a static number and no increase or decrease in temperature. The original characteristics of this SSD will appear and be visible after being tortured until the buffer cache runs out. This condition can be seen in the results of H2TESTW, but I think there is no public user who is going to torture this SSD using H2TESTW because in my opinion besides taking a long time, make a full SSD, also can reduce the age of the SSD because of a massive read-write SSD.
After looking at the various test results above it’s time to draw conclusions regarding the Review, pros and disadvantages of Goldenfir and this 128GB Weijinto.
Advantages of Goldenfir and Weijinto
The advantages of Goldenfir and Weijinto 128GB are:
- Cheap
- Free Shipping
- Faster than 10000 RPM HDD
- The weaknesses of Goldenfir and Weijinto 128GB are:
- NAND Flash is unknown from which manufacturer
- Static temperature
- No supporting software
- Non-Warranty
So simple review that I can make… If you want to share the experience, want to ask or just sharing please leave a comment, I will try the answer as I can…
