How to Fix Fatal Error Wuthering Waves

Anyone experiencing fatal error in wuthering waves try the following methods for fix:

  • Epic Games: Click three dots and manage files then click verify file properties.
  • Extra Steps: Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk in CMD as admin to ensure no corrupt files.

Make sure everything is up to date like graphics card, DirectX, Microsoft Visual C++ etc.

Ways to Fix the Fatal Error

Update the Nvidia video card to the latest version. Open by administrator, go to:

  • Wuthering Waves\Wuthering Waves Game\Client\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini

Find this lines:

ResolutionSizeX=XXXX
ResolutionSizeY=XXXX
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=XXXX
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=XXXX

Change XXXX to 1280×720, or lower.

Gateway Connection Timed Out

For anyone who have a problem Gateway Connection Timed Out. I use this method and the problem gone (PC).

  • Search VPN SSTP Hostname from this website.
  • Start > type ‘VPN’.
  • Click ‘Add VPN’.
    • Set ‘Connection name’ as whatever you want.
    • Set ‘Server name or address’ from what you got form this website.
    • Example: vpn801112097.opengw.net:1524.
    • Set ‘Username (optional)’ and ‘Password (optional) as ‘VPN’.
  • Click ‘Save’ and don’t click ‘Connect’.
  • Open your game and let it log-in to your account.
  • After that click ‘Connect’ the VPN that you added.
  • Then you can play the game and disabled the VPN after you get in the game.

ACE-DRV64.dll Initialization Error 2

If you have ACE-DRV64.dll Initialization error 2 follow steps:

  • Find your installed game and follow path:
  • Copy “x64” folder.
  • Go to C:\Program Files\AntiCheatExpert\SGuard.
  • Backup or rename “x64” located here.
  • Paste new “x64” folder here.
  • It should work now (possible restarting computer needed).
  • Wuthering Waves Game\Client\Binaries\Win64\AntiCheatExpert\SGuard

Smooth Connection

If you want to ensure a smooth connection and download for your Wuthering Waves follow these steps:

  • Ensure you have strong connection and play over Wi-Fi preferably.
  • Go to control panel > View by category > View network and status > Change adapter settings > Right click active network and click properties > Right click IPv4 and click properties and use Cloudflare DNS –> 1.1.1.1 and alt: 1.0.0.1 (known as the fastest dns currently).
  • Go to task manager > click details > right click wuthering waves and set highest priority task > restart launcher.
  • Ensure there isn’t many background process that hinder your connection.
  • Open CMD as admin and run ipconfig /flushdns to clear dns and ensure for better experience.
  • Troubleshoot incase there is a problem.
  • If there are some unusual issues that arise try using a VPN to download.
  • If downloading just wait.

Other FAQ

  • Password error (Fixed): Confirmed that you can have 26 limit password now.
  • Download stuck at a %: Wait as this is a verification file problem and DO NOT restart launcher as this restarts download and you have to reinstall.
  • Blank Page after clicking Windows installation: New issue but the current fix is check this and go to the launcher error section OR run VPN, and if that doesnt work then use epic games and manually run through exe file.
  • Error code (0xc000007b): Check this article for proper guidance.
  • If missing/corrupted in your system, run CMD in admin and use sfc /scannow and chkdsk to check errors and repair.
