How to Remove Dusty Screws From a Notebook – If you opened your computer notebook several times, you may have removed the inside of the Phillips screws that hold the computer case together. This makes it difficult for you to use a standard Phillips screwdriver to open the computer case back. Due to the small size of the screws, you can not stick them to extract the screws, so you will need to use a straight screwdriver to remove the stripped screws from your notebook computer.

  1. Turn off the notebook. Having the computer increases your chances of getting an electric shock.
  2. Insert the square screwdriver into the head of the stripped screw. Make sure you have a screwdriver small enough to fit on a screw.
  3. Apply pressure to the screw when you turn it counterclockwise. Slowly continue to support the screw until the heat is free from the computer.
  4. Hold the screw with a pair of pliers, if it is easier, and remove the rest of the screw from the notebook.
