How to Play Xbox One on Laptop Screen with HDMI

Microsoft Xbox 360 graphics have the best HD experience. Unfortunately, some owners may have no resources for a new HDTV and stay looking for other options. One answer is laptops with HDMI input ports.

  1. Turn off your Xbox 360. Close all programs on your laptop.
  2. Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the back of your Xbox 360.
  3. Insert the opposite end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI input port of your laptop.
  4. Turn on your Xbox 360. Your laptop should automatically feel the new input and switch to HDMI mode.
  5. Access your laptop’s display settings if the mode switch does not occur automatically.
  6. Go to the “System Settings” menu on your Xbox 360 from the dashboard. Configure the display and resolution settings as desired.
  7. All done

Tips Play Xbox One on Laptop Screen with HDMI

  • You won’t be able to connect your Xbox 360 to a laptop via an HDMI output port. These ports are used to connect and transmit the screen image from your laptop to an HDMI-compatible source, not the other way around.
  • An HDMI port is usually present with PCs, graphics cards (GPUs), and currently published monitors. Simply plug one end of the HDMI cable into the port on the back of the PC, and the other end on the monitor.
  • If you have an older PC that only has DVI and analog ports, you’ll need a graphics card update to use HDMI and therefore bring higher-quality video data to an HDMI-compatible monitor.
