The main difference between the two computers is the CDROM. The notebook has not built in disk drive, but have the ability to be plugged into a device. On the other hand, the laptop is slightly larger than the notebook and installed the inside of the camera body.
CDROM in the absence of CDROM drive, the laptop can be the size of a typical paper notebook. It also has the advantage of being lighter than a laptop.
